POP has been dedicated to reaching young audiences with performance and education since our inception.  We have offered free performances for students in Pasadena and Santa Monica during our productions of Cosi fan tutte, Le nozze di Figaro, Il barbiere di Siviglia, and Sweeney Todd.  Thanks to a generous grant from the Brabson Library Foundation, we were able to perform two full performances of The Mikado for school children complete with orchestra.

POP has an on-going internship program with students from Waverly School in Pasadena.  As interns, students learn stagecraft, lighting, costumes, and production.

If you know of a school or group that would like to attend a performance, please let us know. You can find POP performing regularly out in public venues, spreading the word of accessible and affordable opera for everyone.  Recent highlights include a performance of selections from The Mikado a the Getty Museum, performances at the Highland Park Farmer's Market, a preshow for Independent Shakespeare's very popular Shakespeare in Griffith Park, and an open-air performance for the Lummis Day Festival.
