COVID SAFETY PROTOCOLS
Here at Pacific Opera Project, we want to provide a safe way to see live performance again. To do this, we have taken steps to ensure audience and artist safety at all of our events. This includes eliminating our traditional food and beverage offerings. Nothing will be sold at the event, but you are encouraged to bring your own food to enjoy in your car, and take the trash with you.
All performances have been cut down to around two hours and will not have an intermission. Restrooms will be available. Masks are required anytime you are out of your car. All tickets and programs for each show will be digital and contactless.
We have created an extreme "bubble" environment for our artists' safety. Audience cooperation is essential for the bubble to remain intact. (Please, don't feed or touch the artists!)
In addition to providing instructions for audience safety, we will share below what POP and our Artists have agreed to in order to keep them safe. The protocols may be modified based on CDC guidelines, other governmental requirements or guidelines and/or best practices as independently identified by POP. We appreciate and acknowledge the risk involved with live performance during the pandemic. Protocols are fluid and ever changing, and POP will adapt accordingly.
Will be required to stay in their vehicle at all times, except when using the provided restrooms.
Will have access to hand sanitizing stations outside of each restroom.
Must stand 6 feet apart when in lines at the restroom or sanitizing stations.
Will be required to wear masks when outside of their vehicle, regardless of distance from other guests or artists.
POP Commitment to Artists:
Provide a clean and safe environment during rehearsals and performances.
Require COVID test on or around November 4th (November 7th for Orchestra) and November 18th. POP will not allow the continued participation of cast, crew, and staff in the production who receive positive results.
Take the temperature of all cast, crew, and staff prior to each rehearsal and performance.
Require all non-performing staff and crew to wear masks at all times
Require all patrons to wear masks when they are outside of their cars.
Provide hand sanitizer at all events.
Regularly sanitize/wipe down props and furniture.
Artists agree to:
Do everything reasonably within their power to protect themselves and other members of the production.
Limit travel to between rehearsal and home ONLY once rehearsals start and through the conclusion of performances.
Employees will avoid all contacts with people outside of their household, including grocery shopping, dining outdoors, etc.
Immediately contact POP if they are experiencing fever, nausea, or any other symptoms possibly related to COVID, or have had contact with any COVID positive person.
Even with POP’s best intentions, we recognize and accept that someone could contract COVID-19 during this process, possibly ending the production.
