Charlie Kim has been involved with Pacific Opera Project in several capacities (Nanki-Poo in The Mikado 2018, rehearsal pianist for Madama Butterfly 2018, assistant conductor for Falstaff 2016) and is excited to return in the role of conductor and pianist for Don Procopio.
With strong conviction in the role of the arts in the community, Charlie conducts the San Fernando Valley Master Chorale as well as the Philharmonic Choir of Los Angeles Valley College in a greater collaborative effort to unify the performing arts of the San Fernando Valley. He also serves as a principal conductor, pianist, and master of ceremonies for LA Opera Connects community outreach programs and LAUSD in-school tours.
Charlie is a passionate teaching artist, working with arts organizations like the Los Angeles Master Chorale and Los Angeles Opera Connects in education every step of the way, from the classroom to the piano bench, from the podium to singing center stage. He is also a member of SAG-AFTRA as a session singer, on-screen coach, and commercial actor (Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War, Goliath, Cardi B Tries, Robinhood, American Greetings).
He was last seen on stage as one of twenty-one singers on the world tour of Lagrime di San Pietro with the Los Angeles Master Chorale at the Auckland Music Festival and looks forward to our collective return to live music.
