Join us this spring and summer for the continuation of our Artist Recital Series! We’re beyond thrilled to showcase the incredible talents of our beloved artists at POP HQ, in the heart of Highland Park. From March through July this eclectic lineup of innovative recitals will journey through themes ranging from spirituals to madrigals to Japanese art song. April Fools, grown ups - this one's for all the little opera fans! POP and Danielle Marcelle Bond (mezzo-soprano) present a family-friendly recital featuring fantastical opera hits. See some of POP's funniest characters from showstoppers like, The Magic Flute AKA #Superflute, Cenerentola, The Pirates of Penzance, and more! Enjoy classic opera fairy tales & help create some new operatic comedy gold! Play games, win prizes, and sip sparkling apple cider with a star-studded cast of singers: Julia Maria Johnson (soprano), Dominic Salvati (tenor), and Christopher Walters (baritone). WARNING: This show may cause a case of the giggles.

This recital is free, but donations are welcome. All money goes to supporting POP's Education & Engagement programs.

From the sparkling coloratura to the velvety lyric soprano, each voice has its own tale to tell. Whether you're a seasoned opera lover or a curious newcomer, spin the musical roulette where knowledge and melody intertwine, revealing the vocal blueprint that shapes iconic opera roles.

Hark, noble POP folk! Pray, accompany the Adoro Music Ensemble in revelry, for 'tis the time of Madrigals of May (May-drigals), a joyous recital in merry welcome of Spring! This intimate gathering shall resound with melodies hailing from and inspired by the age of Renaissance and the days of yore in Medieval grace. Behold, the evening's repertoire shall include compositions by William Byrd, John Dowland, Josquin de Prez, Yoni Fogelman, and other minstrels of note! LOVE OF NATURE AND THE NATURE OF LOVE

Shizen is the Japanese word used to describe all things natural. Deeper meanings of the word go to the heart of connection between human beings and the physical and spiritual worlds. This recital program will explore the concept of shizen through Japanese songs that reflect on nature and human connection, featuring music by Yoshinao Nakada, Makiko Kinoshita, Toru Takemitsu, and many more, performed by members of POP's Madama Butterfly/蝶々夫人 - mezzo-soprano Kimberly Sogioka, tenor Taka Komagata, tenor Steve Moritsugu, and pianists Eiki Isomura and Naoko Suga.

Mezzo-Soprano Rigby Jones and pianist Martin Borsanyi perform a dynamic, dramatic, multilingual program centered on the works of Kurt Weill and Edith Piaf. Embark on a trip from the Weimar Republic and to the streets of Pigalle as told through the unique political perspectives of lyricists Bertold Brecht, Marc Blizstein, Edith Piaf, Jacques Brel, and more. Countries apart, but not in matters of the heart, these songs share a common theme of love - wild, fanatical, deranged, or ardent. Light refreshments served and wine available for purchase. Translations provided!
