Brian Holman

Brian Holman is Music Director of New Rochelle Opera and Associate Conductor of MOO. Recent projects include collaborations with Opera Orlando (Les contes d’Hoffmann), Inland Northwest Opera (Le nozze di Figaro), Cleveland Opera Theater (Amelia Lost), Pacific Opera Project (Hansel and Gretel), Marble City Opera (Tosca, ShadowLight, Amelia Lost), New Rochelle Opera (Tosca, La traviata, La bohème), and Red River Lyric Opera (La Cenerentola, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi). Brian has appeared at Harare International Festival of the Arts, Mediterranean Opera Festival, and has conducted performances with Orlando Philharmonic, Lebanese Philharmonic, Spokane Symphony and Tucson Pops orchestras. Brian has also worked with New York City Opera, Opera Africa, Opera in Williamsburg, Treasure Coast Opera, and Montclair State University Opera. Upcoming engagements with Pacific Opera Project (Hansel and Gretel) and New Rochelle Opera (Die Fledermaus).
Born in Arizona of English and Mexican ancestry, Brian studied piano at Arizona State University and Manhattan School of Music, and works as a vocal coach and musical arranger in New York City. He has performed with many acclaimed singers, including Nelly Miricioiu, Laquita Mitchell, Aprile Millo, Stella Zambalis, Francisco Casanova, James Valenti, Lester Lynch, Noah Stewart, Amine Hachem and Laverne Cox. Brian has played for masterclasses of operatic legends Mariella Devia, Giuseppe Filianoti, Marcello Giordani, Salvatore Fisichella, Nicola Martinucci, Neil Shicoff, Martina Arroyo, Lauren Flanigan and Ira Siff. Brian’s work has also has been featured on international radio, television and digital media (WQXR, Classic FM, Sirius XM, Virgin, Esimora Cultural RAC Colombia, Alhurra, LBCI, Tele-Occidente Sicilia, Vogue).
