Kyle Naig
Music Director
Kyle Naig is a conductor, pianist, coach, and arranger from Des Moines, Iowa.
During the 21/22 season, he debuted as music staff at Opera Theatre of Saint Louis (Carmen), North Carolina Opera (La bohème; Die Zauberflöte), Virginia Opera (La bohème), and Opera Company of Middlebury (Maid of Orleans), while also making a return as music staff to The Dallas Opera (Flight) and Intermountain Opera Bozeman (The Barber of Seville).
During the 2021 summer season, Kyle was the associate conductor for Sweeney Todd at his hometown company of Des Moines Metro Opera. From 2018-2020, he was a Houston Grand Opera Studio Artist pianist/coach, where he worked on productions of La bohème, Florencia en el Amazonas, Don Giovanni, Saul, and Aïda.
In the 22/23 season, Kyle will conduct Into the Woods at Intermountain Opera Bozeman, as well as a double bill of Il cambiale di matrimonio and Gianni Schicchi at Opera Orlando. He maintains an active recital calendar, with upcoming performances including collaborations with tenor Duke Kim, soprano Dorothy Gal, bass Daniel Noyola, and others. This season will be his first on music staff at the San Francisco Conservatory.
Kyle is an alumnus of training programs at The Glimmerglass Festival, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Opera Santa Barbara, and Des Moines Metro Opera. He is a graduate of the University of Kansas.
