Michelle Drever

American soprano Michelle Drever possesses an unusual combination of rich, powerful sound, effervescent color, and sprightly coloratura hailed by Opera Wire as “imbued with fiery relish.” She is delighted to return to Pacific Opera Project where her previous roles include the Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute, Le Feu/Le Rossignol in L'enfant et les sortilèges, and Violetta in La Traviata (cover). 

Most recently, Ms. Drever sang the role of Donna Anna in Don Giovanni at West Bay Opera. Other credits include Violetta in La Traviata, Lucia in Lucia di Lammermoor, Königin der Nacht in Die Zauberflöte, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, and Rosalinde in Die Fledermaus at companies including Utah Lyric Opera, Pocket Opera, LA Opera, and Miami Lyric Opera.

A fiercely committed performer, Ms. Drever is steadily gaining a reputation as a “force of nature” on stage, praised as the “rare combination of actor/singer for whom opera was intended but all too seldom [found]” (Splash Magazine). She holds a master’s degree in vocal performance from the UCLA Herb Alpert School of Music where she created the role of La Condesa in the world premiere of Juana by Carla Lucero. An alumnus of the Renata Scotto Opera Academy under the direction of Renata Scotto, Ms. Drever is also a finalist of the Premiere Opera Foundation and National Opera Association vocal competitions. Later this season, she will make her role debut as Tosca in Tosca as part of a joint production with Cinnabar Theater and Pocket Opera in San Francisco. She resides in Los Angeles.
